In a hidden corner of the Alcarria Baja, bathed by the Tagus riverbed, this environment presents a practically unknown territory. To enter this landscape is to make a journey to the space of tranquillity and serenity – located in a protected area between the reservoirs of Entrepeñas and Buendía, one crosses the landscape always accompanied by the water and the valleys.
Its location - a hundred kilometres from the centre of Madrid - allows easy acces. An hour drive from the city, and less so from the airport, one arrives at an entirely unspoilt environment. A Romanesque bridge serves as an entrance door and an olive grove accompanies the route.
Without a doubt, this place is a small paradise. The neighbours of the lavender fields of Brihuega maintain the traditions of the area: the delicious cuisine of the Castilian-La Mancha orchard, the care of the stone villages, the fresh water wells.
THE CONCEPT
This project arises from the restlessness of four friends who were looking for their own Eden. They wished they could escape from the city without long journeys by car. After the discovery of this place, they set themselves the task of making it habitable - through their shared passion for architecture.
The purpose is to project ideas into this natural environment via respectful architecture. The initiative arises with a strong commitment to local techniques and traditions, establishing bonds of trust with artisans and builders in the area. It is intended to maintain the essence of this landscape through a more contemporary vision - a balance between avant-garde architecture and a dialogue with nature. It is a commitment for our time.
The project is conceived with very clean lines, where the environment penetrates the architecture and the architecture embraces the field. The essential thing is to feel the calm when arriving and to be able to enjoy the spaces and the pleasures of inhabiting this paradise.
EXPERIENCE
Partaking in water sports is commonplace through bodies of water in this area, from kitesurfing, waterskiing, windsurfing to canoeing and fishing. The area hosts excellent restaurants that combine the most traditional Spanish products with innovative techniques of modern cuisine: El Cenador de las Monjas and Restaurante Abuela Maravillas are two.
30KM AROUND
The neighboring environment hosts a rich array of cultural and heritage sites such as:
Monsalud Monastery / Archaeological site of the Ercávica / Bolarque / Zorita de los Canes / Pastrana / Recópolis
History tells us, about this hidden zone, next to Sacedón in the Alcarria de Guadalajara, that it was the scene of more than thirty battles between the troops of Juan Martín Díaz, the Empecinado and Joseph Leopold Hugo - father of the writer Víctor Hugo - during the Napoleonic wars. This was a strategic point during the feat, due to the characteristics of the topography and its relationship with the Tagus.

As the traveller approaches Sacedón, vineyards appear and oxen pull the plough. Carts of mules pass up and down and, from time to time, crosses a lorry loaded with food (...)
(...) one sees fields of anise of a brilliant green and still young olive groves, well cared for by a green ashen.
